Brenda grew up in Oklahoma City, relocating to West Central Arkansas later in life. She has memories of drawing as a child, on anything she could find. Her first drawing was of a horse, and even though she paints wildlife and the occasional landscape, horses are her favorite subjects. Brenda is a signature member of NOAPS (National Oil & Acrylic Painters Society) and MAA (Miniature Artists of America). She is an associate member of IGOR (International Guild of Realism), OPA (Oil Painters of America) Arkansas Beaux Arts Academy.
For as long as I can recall I have loved to draw and paint. I always strive for realism in my oil paintings. Living in rural Arkansas has provided me the opportunity to capture the beauty of it’s landscapes, wildlife and horses. Though I am largely self-taught, I have attended several workshops taught by prominent artists. I have been painting professionally since 2008. I have been competing in miniature art shows across the country since 2012.
